This course begins with the fundamentals of the vapor compression cycle as it applies to common commercial refrigeration systems ranging from Walk in Freezers to Ice Machines, and moves through hands on practical application in our 2,000 sf lab.

• Course has heavy emphasis on hands on with operating equipment
• Review of oxy-actelyne brazing practices
• Recovery and Evacuation of various refrigerants
• A2L and A3 Refrigerant practices
• Basic Diagnostics and troubleshooting of refrigerant circuits
• Basic Diagnostics and troubleshooting of electrical controls

PREREQUISITES -

Basic Electric or equivalent

Air Conditioning I- or equivalent

EPA 608 Type II (universal can be taken during the class)
